Tom Valente, MD

Dr. Tom Valente is a physician treating chronic pain, is fully aware of the stigma and prejudice these patients experience in the medical practice community. Such was the beginning of Howard Brown Health with a group of medical students, a mentor and the AIDS crisis. With perseverance, determination and compassion, the clinic has grown to a formidable provider of healthcare services to the LGBTQ+ community. Such was his vision in educating primary care providers about chronic pain and above all treating every patient who walked through our doors with dignity and respect. As Dr. Valente has matured in his practice of medicine, he has learned to seek to understand before being understood. As he is now retired, he is grateful to lend support and effort to the Vernita Gray Council for Philanthropy ensuring the long-term viability and growth of Howard Brown.
