Howard Brown Health is committed to offering confidential and comprehensive sexual health walk-in services that make you feel accepted, truly cared for, and valued just as you are. Services are provided on a walk-in basis where no appointment is needed.
Once you arrive, you will be given brief registration paperwork to complete and will be placed on the walk-in clinic schedule to meet with either a Health Educator or Registered Nurse. The average time of the visit can range from 45 – 60 minutes, depending on the services you receive that day. Clients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Get Your Results With Healthvana
Results will return within 7 business days after your visit and we will only call you if results are positive. However, we understand the importance of knowing your results, even if they’re negative. So now you can easily check your results with Healthvana!
Healthvana delivers results directly to your phone via their iPhone app or any device with an internet connection, and provides test results, next steps, and testing e-reminders.
We will provide you the option to sign-up for Healthvana during your visit and will assist you in creating your account. Within 7 business days, you will be notified when your results are ready! If you need a paper copy of your results or would like your results mailed/faxed, a completed Release of Information form and picture identification will be required during your visit.
Cost and Payment Information
Howard Brown Health is committed to providing care regardless of ability to pay. The Sexual Health Walk-In Clinic is able to provide services to those most in need using the fees collected from the sliding scale, so your payment or donations are appreciated!
Payments can be made with cash, credit or debit card. We accept most public and private insurance plans.
HIV Testing – Free
This includes a 3rd generation rapid HIV test and a 4th generation confirmatory HIV test.
Full Panel HIV/STI Screening and Treatment – Sliding Scale Fee
You will be assessed a fee on a sliding scale based on what you can afford. With this visit, you will receive full panel HIV/STI/sexual health testing by a Health Educator and discuss symptoms or sexual health concerns with a Nurse who can provide treatment, if necessary.
Hepatitis A/B Vaccinations – $35 each visit
This includes screening for immunity for Hepatitis A/B, immunizations for Hepatitis A/B, and screening for Hepatitis C. If receiving Hepatitis A/B vaccinations, 2 additional visits may be required to complete the recommended immunization series.
Tuberculosis (TB) Screening – $25
The PPD placement will occur during the visit. There will be a required follow-up visit 48-72 hours after PPD placement to determine the results and provide you documentation.
Pregnancy Testing – Free
A urine sample will be needed and will receive test results within 15 minutes.
Other Services Available
Testing Together is a service offered at Howard Brown Health that provides HIV testing for couples or individuals in romantic and/or sexual partnerships, and is offered through our Uptown Walk-In Clinic, Outreach Services, and Broadway Youth Center locations.
PEP or Post-Exposure Prophylaxis is a medication regimen that you can take if you believe you have just been exposed to HIV. If you take PEP as directed within 3 days after exposure, it can prevent HIV from infecting your body. If you had unprotected sex with or been exposed to the blood from someone you think may be HIV positive, please visit the Walk-In Clinic and ask to speak to a Health Educator, who will assist you with your visit.

PrEP or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis is a medication that can reduce your risk of getting HIV. If you take PrEP as directed, it can reduce the chance that HIV will be able to infect your body. A once-daily pill is available for patients seeking PrEP.
