Katie Wright, MPH (Any/All) is a Social Behavioral Research Coordinator at Howard Brown Health’s Center for Education, Research, and Advocacy (ERA). They received their undergraduate degree from Kalamazoo College in 2012 in Psychology. They moved to Chicago in 2017 to complete their Master’s degree in Public Health with a specialty in Health Policy and Administration. They finished their Masters in 2019.
Their professional background includes work in direct patient care as a home health aide as well as experience in nonprofits assisting with research, journal writing and advocacy work. They are very interested in how demographic factors – especially age, incarceration history, and LGBTQ-identity – affect the health of individuals and communities. In the future, they would love to explore how legislative and/or advocacy work on progressive policies can work to achieve health equity.
Katie has always been interested in fiber arts – they specifically love to knit and quilt. Recently, they have been dedicating time and crafting skills to focus on waste prevention and work towards being zero-waste.
