Dylan Haessly performs as a community volunteer for the greater Chicago area, concentrating most of her time at Common Pantry in North Center. She has been on the opening team for many persistently succesful restaurants, having worked on multiple locations for 4C Tavern group and Bonhomme Hospitality Group, most notably, the original Beatnik located in West Town. Her interests in hospitality prioritize corporate policy reform, eliminating age old business practices that prevent equal hiring, inclusivity, and the safety and security of POC and queer employees. Her dream is to continue to lead and educate her peers on the rights and needs of marginalized persons in the workplace.
In response to COVID-19 she has adjusted her focus to food and health accessibility, utilizing her love of physical labor and communal gathering to extend resources and care to her fellow Chicagoans. She is a caregiver, an obsessively organized Virgo queen, and loves getting dressed up just to buy groceries. She also idolizes Stacey Abrams and highly recommends her book Minority Leader for any aspiring personal and peer development.
