Andrew Kominik

Council Member at Large

Andrew Kominik works as the Investment Risk Manager and a Senior Quantitative Analyst at William Blair Investment Management, a Chicago-based investment firm that manages over $70 billion in client assets. He has also had roles as a marketing analyst and had a brief early-career stint as a high school US history teacher. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Brandeis University and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance and econometrics & statistics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also has a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Andrew has been a donor to a number of organizations that promote health care, overall wellbeing, social justice, and LGBTQ+ rights, including Howard Brown Health. He is excited by the opportunity that the Vernita Gray Council offers him to play a more active role in promoting LGBTQ+ advocacy and wellbeing.

While Andrew has been a proud Chicagoan for the last twenty years, he is also a proud born-and-bred Brooklynite and will happily debate with anyone the merits of Chicago versus New York style pizza and what constitutes the perfect bagel.
