Alex Ingraham, MPH

Social Behavioral Research Data Analyst

Alex Ingraham, MPH (he/him/his), is a Social Behavioral Research Data Analyst at Howard Brown Health’s Center for Education, Research and Advocacy. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan. Before joining Howard Brown, Alex worked with the City of Chicago Department of Public Health and Northwestern University on a project aiming to connect several disjointed HIV health-related data systems to a central database to be used to improve the City’s linkage and retention within HIV care programs.

While pursuing his Master’s Degree, Alex collaborated with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to predict the average number of medical case manager services a Ryan White client will likely use before achieving viral suppression. This model is used to more equitably manage their case manager’s caseloads, allocating more time and resources to patients who tend to benefit most.

At Howard Brown, Alex is helping to answer research questions sourced from healthcare providers, academic partners, and members of the LGBTQ+ community – who know best the issues affecting their health and wellbeing. He is excited to use data to inform and measure Howard Brown’s mission to close the gap of health disparities affecting our community. Away from work, Alex enjoys playing board games and video games with friends and family, biking around Chicago, attending live performances, and singing show tunes or bops in the shower.
