Introducing Howard Brown Health Pride 2023: Serving Your Body, Heart, and Mind. With Pleasure.
(Chicago, IL, June 6, 2023) – As the LGBTQ+ community has increasingly faced targeted attacks, we urge everyone to remember that these attacks go beyond demonizing queerness: they jeopardize queer people’s ability to stay healthy, stay housed, and stay safe. This Pride Month, Howard Brown Health not only remains steadfast in our commitment to providing quality sexual, reproductive, and transition care, but we want to remind people across the country that queer people are far more than who they love or how they live.
Howard Brown has been fighting for the LGBTQ+ community for nearly 50 years now. In that time, we have learned some lessons. We know that gay and lesbian people need more than just sexual and reproductive care. We know that transgender people need more than just hormone replacement therapy. We know that every member of our community needs holistic, affirming care. Because of this, we are here to make sure that every part of you gets the attention and respect that it deserves.
With the upcoming opening of the new Halsted clinic and the organization’s 50th anniversary approaching, Howard Brown aims to firmly state who we are and what role we play in our communities:
