Howard Brown Health Halsted has been open since 2010. Even though we’ve gone through many name changes, Halsted has always been committed to compassionate, patient-first care to everyone, regardless of their situation.
First known as Howard Brown’s Triad Health Practice at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, the clinic was Howard Brown’s very first satellite clinic. Dr. David Blatt and Dr. Tom Barret were the first providers there. Little did we know it was just the start of Howard Brown’s expansion!

The organization as a whole learned many lessons through Halsted. That knowledge can be seen today in all nine of Howard Brown’s clinic sites across Chicago. In 2013, the clinic changed its name to Aris Health and moved to its current location at 3245 N Halsted. Then, in 2015, it was renamed to Howard Brown Health Halsted.
Over the years we’ve changed our name and location, but we have always maintained a close connection to our surrounding community. Staff and providers have come and gone, but we’ve stayed true to the mission of providing quality healthcare to absolutely everyone. We’ve gone from being solely an HIV clinic to serving everyone, even children. In the heart of Boystown, we’re at the center of where people come so that they can be themselves and not feel judged. There’s a sense of safety in the air here in Boystown. I have clients from the Southside and south suburbs who come to Boystown for everything healthcare related because they feel safe when they come to us.
