Midwest LGBTQ Health Symposium 2020

This year Chicago, along with the rest of the world, has experienced an unparalleled shift in the health care paradigm. Health care professionals have been challenged and risen to the task, to serve in innovative and community-driven approaches to address the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have been forced to look at fundamental practices and consider radical perspectives as we continue to prepare for a new normal.

The Midwest LGBTQ Health Symposium 2020 will explore this year’s theme “Being Healthy is a Radical Act” which serves as a conceptual framework to explore the health and wellness of LGBTQ communities. The two-day gathering of healthcare professionals, social service providers, advocates, and researchers will highlight innovative best practices in LGBTQ patient-centered clinical care as well as community-driven approaches to addressing health disparities. Join us as we explore critical topics in the field such as HIV elimination, racial equity in LGBTQ care, reproductive justice and others as both healthcare providers and advocates strive for meaningful change.
