The goal for our Holiday Drive this year is to secure vital items for 150 young people who receive services from Broadway Youth Center. Most of the young people coming to BYC are LGBTQ+, BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color), and/or experiencing housing instability, so wintertime in Chicago can be especially challenging. These items help us to ensure that our young people are well-supplied for the time they spend away from BYC this winter.
What We Need
- Fleece blanket (bulk order)
- Underwear
- Duffle bags or backpacks
- Hats & gloves
- Socks
- Target gift cards ($5-$10)
- Walgreens gift cards ($5-$10)
- Amazon gift cards ($5-$10)
- Ventra ride cards (single-ride/1-day pass)
- Wallet or card holders
- Binders
- Bluetooth headphones or earbuds
- Thermal Clothing: Tops, bottoms, and body suits
- Hand warmers
- Portable phone chargers (USB-C/USB-A)
- Cleaning Supplies: Brooms, mops, Clorox wipes, Fabuloso, dish soap, Pine Sol, sponges, bleach
- Snacks: Packaged goods, potato chips, cookies, fruit snacks, fruit cups
- Clothing: Hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, jogging suits
How to Give
There are two main ways you can donate items for this year’s Holiday Drive:
- Order items using our Amazon Wishlist
- Drop-off items you’ve already purchased
Regardless of how you choose to donate items, all items must arrive by Monday, December 4th at the very latest.

- Add the items you’d like to donate to your cart
- Go to check-out

- Pay and submit your order
- Complete our In-Kind Gift Form so that we can properly record your gift and thank you for your generosity

Drop-Off Instructions
Here’s how you can drop-off new items you’ve already purchased as donations for the Holiday Drive:
- Gather your items and pack them into a box
- Label the box(es) with “Attn: Antonio Elizondo (BYC Holiday Gifts) c/o Broadway Youth Center”
- Bring the box(es) to the Broadway Youth Center (1023 W Irving Park Rd. Chicago, IL 60613) at one of the following times:
- Wednesdays: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Fridays: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Speak to a BYC staff person and let them know you’re there to drop off donations for the Holiday Drive
- Finish your drop-off
- Complete our In-Kind Gift Form so that we can properly record your gift and thank you for your generosity
