Howard Brown Health Receives New Collective Bargaining Petition

The workers are represented by the Illinois Nurses Association

(June 6, 2022 – Chicago, IL) – Today, Howard Brown Health workers filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to form a union that includes departments across the organization, including the Brown Elephant.  Howard Brown nurses are already represented by the Illinois Nurses Association (INA), which filed the new petition today.

Howard Brown respects the rights of workers to organize and self-determine if collective bargaining is in their best interest. If employees vote to form a bargaining unit, Howard Brown will bargain in good faith. Regardless of workers’ unionization decision, Howard Brown management will lead with humility and open minds, valuing everyone’s input as we continue to improve Howard Brown’s patient and employee experiences.

David Ernesto Munar, President and CEO of Howard Brown Health said, “Along with the Executive Leadership team, I am deeply committed to collaborating with our front-line staff and staff across the organization to address employee concerns so we may continue to meet the urgent healthcare and wellness needs of our patients.”
