Howard Brown Health provides holistic services for all of your healthcare needs, including full gynecological care to routine health screenings and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses. At Howard Brown Health, women can also access a wide range of social and mental health services in a safe and supportive environment, including services for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. Sexual and Repro Health Drop-In

Women’s Health Drop-Ins are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month at our Sheridan clinic (4025 N. Sheridan Road). Check in begins at 5:30 p.m., with services provided from 6 – 8 p.m.

 Services Include:

  • HPV Vaccines
  • STI testing and treatment
  • Pregnancy tests
  • Pelvic exams and pap test
  • Breast/Chest exams
  • Birth Control Counseling

Alternative Insemination

Howard Brown Health’s Alternative Insemination (AI) Program assists lesbian, bisexual, queer and transgender individuals with preparing for and becoming pregnant through alternative insemination. The first step for people interested in AI is to attend an orientation session. In the orientation session participants learn about key components of the AI process, including: insemination methods, choosing a donor and sperm bank, negotiating insurance/finances, and potential obstacles to a successful insemination process. Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program

Howard Brown Health is a lead agency for the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP), a state funded cancer prevention program that can help cover the cost of cervical PAPs, pelvic exams, breast and chest exams, and mammograms for uninsured or underinsured patients. Cancer Support Group

Held the 4th Wednesday of each month at our Uptown location, this LGBTQIA+ support group is facilitated by Gilda’s Club Chicago and provides a supportive space for cancer survivors and loved ones of people with cancer. The Herstory of Women’s Health Services at Howard Brown Health

Women’s Health Services at Howard Brown Health is a descendant of The Lesbian Community Cancer Project (LCCP). LCCP was founded in 1990 to address the myriad of health disparities faced by lesbian women. In 2007 LCCP merged with Howard Brown Health and was renamed the Lesbian Community Care Project, to reflect the services provided beyond cancer prevention, treatment and advocacy. Today Women’s Health Services promotes the health and wellness of the lesbian, bisexual, queer, and transgender community through healthcare services, public education, research, and programming.
