Onsite Clinical Research Associate

(he/him/his)

Connor Quinby, MA, MA, CCRC (He/Him/His) joined HBH Department of Clinical Research after working in nutraceutical clinical research. He began his career as a concert flutist and pianist, before completing graduate education in psycholinguistics. There, he was inspired to pursue research as he discovered music and language neuroscience. He is interested in musical and linguistic overlaps in the brain and nervous system, better understanding “music is a language”. He later completed another graduate degree in Medical Sciences and gained CORE laboratory experience at NorthShore Evanston Hospital.

Currently, he is the On-Site Clinical Research Associate at HBH, coordinating clinical trial operations, conducting participant visits, performing phlebotomy and laboratory specimen preparation, as well as educating and liaising with internal teams regarding current clinical trials. He is also faculty in the Department of Natural Sciences at Daley College of City Colleges of Chicago, teaching human biology, medical terminology, and nutrition. He has guest lectured on LGBTQ+-youth health needs for University of Illinois at Chicago’s Post-Baccalaureate BSN program.

In his spare time, he is actively attending and presenting at conferences such as Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI), Society for Music Perception and Cognition (SMPC), and the Midwest LGBTQ+ Health Symposium. He loves spending time with his partner and their three cats, attending drag shows, learning to powerlift, and reading up on the latest science in LGBTQ+ health.
