Howard Brown Health Appoints Key Leaders to Executive Team

Erica K. McCallum, MBA, CPA, Chief Financial Officer
Following a national search, Erica McCallum has been appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer. With 20 years of accounting experience, including over 7 years at Howard Brown, McCallum brings expertise in strategic planning, quality management, financial forecasting, and strategic financial planning to the role of Chief Financial Officer. In 2016, McCallum joined Howard Brown as its Controller. In her time at Howard Brown, McCallum has streamlined financial infrastructure, overseen all sectors of the accounting department, and led the successful completion of clean external audits. McCallum’s vision for finance is to focus both on our current financial evolution alongside our long-term sustainability.

Dona A. McCullough, MA, MBA, LSSGB, Chief Human Resources Officer
Following a national search, Dona A. McCullough has been appointed to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer. With global and industry-diverse experience, McCullough has used her acumen in driving transformational change to develop effective talent management programming and positively impacting the employee experience in a holistic way. McCullough’s vision for Human Resources at Howard Brown is to strengthen its sustainability, scalability, and agility. This includes all elements involved in engaging a talented workforce.

Magda Houlberg, MD, AAHIVS, Medical Director of Geriatric Medicine
After more than 10 years as Howard Brown’s Chief Clinical Officer, Magda Houlberg has assumed the role of Medical Director of Geriatric Medicine. As one of only a handful of board-certified geriatricians nationwide with LGBTQ+ health experience, Dr. Houlberg will continue her clinical leadership at Howard Brown in this new role and contribute to the growth of the organization’s Geriatric Medicine & Aging Services department. Chief Medical Director, Patrick Gibbons, DO, will continue to provide executive leadership to the clinical practice, working closely with Dr. Houlberg, other specialty medical directors, and site medical directors.
“When I first started at Howard Brown 15 years ago, there were five medical providers. At the time, I dreamed that one day we might have 30 medical providers. Now, as Howard Brown’s network of care continues to grow, we have nearly 50 medical providers and can see that there is still great need for the humanizing care we offer. I look forward to building Howard Brown’s geriatric practice and working closely with our President and CEO, Chief Medical Director, and clinical providers to maintain Howard Brown’s critical role in our community,” said Houlberg.
