Disclaimer: Howard Brown Health acknowledges diverse communities that access our services. We are currently updating our language regarding OB/GYN services (traditionally listed under “Women’s Health”) based on feedback from community, staff, and patients. Howard Brown recognizes that “Women’s Health” is a vital service but that we should always strive to be as inclusive to our transgender and nonbinary communities as possible. We appreciate your patience and are working to ensure our website reflects the diversity of our patients and clients.

January is dedicated to Cervical Health Awareness Month. In addition to being reminded of the importance of taking charge of your health, we also have exciting news regarding gynecological care at Howard Brown Health.

Howard Brown now provides an array of in-office gynecological services for cisgender women, transmasculine people, and anyone who needs it. Your health and your bodily autonomy matters. Our gynecological providers are trained to honor your boundaries and needs. If you aren’t sure what’s right for you and your body, we encouraged to have open and honest conversations about your cervical health.

We offer a variety of services including but not limited to:

  • Contraceptive Counselling
  • Monitoring Cycles
  • Treating Common Gynecological Conditions: Vulvodynia/ Vulvar Dystrophy, Abnormal Uterine Bleeding, Uterine Fibroids, Endometriosis, Cervical Dysplasia, Chronic pelvic pain
  • Cervical Pap tests (Pap smear)

Dr. Monica Moore, Howard Brown Health’s Medical Director of Reproductive Health, would like to remind individuals that cervical health not only requires Pap tests every 3 years but yearly STI panels and examinations. Dr. Moore recommends that all people with a cervix need Pap smears.
