With over 25 years of experience in music publishing, makeup/fashion, and healthcare, Stacey brings a unique perspective through networking and connection. Her advocacy journey began in 1992 during high school when she started her activism through Teen Work as a participant of the state conference in California. This conference brought teens from all walks of life together to explore and learn about sexual health, family/life issues, and the complexities of LGBTQ awareness. The following year, Stacey became a board member creating shows and ideas in collaboration with others for other teens featuring many local celebrities and documentaries showcasing the AIDS epidemic and featuring workshops educating teens on H.I.V.
After graduating from DePaul University in 2016 with a B.A. focused on Health Science while working seven days a week for five years during her undergraduate studies, Stacey never lost sight of her commitment to making a difference. Stacey went to work in the healthcare sector, specializing in life and disability insurance. Recognizing the challenges many faces in this industry; she renewed her commitment to volunteerism and advocacy with organizations; Care for Friends, Meals on Wheels, Special Olympics, and Howard Brown Health. As a member of The Vernita Gray Council, Stacey continues to advocate for marginalized communities, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Stacey’s contributions to numerous projects, including one with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics on The Oprah Show’s “The Last Makeover”, aired May 2011, managing/promoting local musical artists in Chicago, further showcase her commitment to empowering and uplifting others.
