Juan Rivera, BA, CHES® (He/Him/His) is the Social Behavioral Research Manager at Howard Brown Health’s Center for Education, Research, and Advocacy (ERA). Juan attended Northeastern Illinois University studying Community Health and Wellness and minored in Biology. His academic focus was on LGBTQ health, HIV/STI Education & Prevention, Drug Education/Prevention, Community Health Program Planning, Design, and Development, Curriculum Design and Implementation for grades K-12. 

During undergraduate he interned at Lake County Health Department as a Prevention Services Program Intern focusing on Drug prevention in Elementary and High Schools. Shortly after he began his journey at HBH as a Call Center Representative, then moved to ERA as a Research Assistant, and in 2020 moved to Social Behavioral Research Manager. His professional interest include LGBTQ Health and Wellness, HIV/STI Prevention and Education, and Behavioral Research to identify and address disparities within the community.

Juan’s interests include:Holistic and Mindfulness Practices, Mystery/Sci-Fi/Fiction Novels and TV Programs, Anime, and Traveling
