David Hackett

(he/him/his)

David prides himself on being a longtime political activist in the Chicago LGBT community. Having started in the late 80’s-working to elect 48th Ward alderman Kathy Osterman-and coming full circle to elect her son Harry in 2011. Campaigned/crusaded with everyone from Dawn Clark Netsch to Pat Quinn to JB Pritzker in their governor runs along with mayors Harold Washington to Daley to Emanuel to Lightfoot during their time in office.

Passionate about organizing/working with/volunteering/fundraising for many of our local non-profits including EQIL-TPAN-AFC-Center on Halsted-Chicago House-Civil Rights Agenda-The Legacy Project and the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame and of course-Howard Brown- among others over the past 2 decades.

Retired officially in 2012 (worked with a family-owned food company)-David is a fervent Pilates practitioner-relishes fitness dancing classes- is an avid reader and classic Hollywood film history aficionado. Very much a Chicago-based man who has lived in Andersonville since 1999.
