Between 1995–2005, Who’s That Girl was an extravagant Las Vegas Revue style variety show spotlighting performers who impersonated your favorite musical divas like Cher, Tina Turner, Pat Benetar, Liza Minelli, Annie Lennox, Cyndi Lauper, Beyonce and many more. Each production number was rounded out with teams of backup dancers from Chicago’s dance communities along with elaborate sets, luscious costumes and exciting lighting effects. Memorable highlights included the DRAG Makeover LIVE Auction where audience members would out bid each other to be put into drag and perform their own lip sync number as part of the finale!
This year, Patrick Russo, aka Patricia Roberts, is back to produce an unparalleled experience of new numbers and some of the most loved performances reimaged with impersonating divas channeling Cher, Tina, Judy, Adele and many more.
Early productions benefitted AIDS Foundation of Chicago and Open Hand Chicago, then ultimately Howard Brown Health where the event became a yearly partnership. Patrick was honored in 2003 by Howard Brown at their yearly gala receiving their FRIEND FOR LIFE Humanitarian Contributions Award during their almost decade long collaboration.
The show starts out with a bang featuring Patricia Roberts and Tempura in a big Broadway number with all the glitz, glamour, chorography, and costume changes you’ve come to expect. Who’s That Girl favorites Monique Moyet, Delores Van-Cartier, and Regina Upright keep the energy up with performances and surprises throughout the night. And—joining the cast for the first time are the Kiki Queens! Additional world-class queens will be announced in the weeks coming.
