A Rewarding Experience for Volunteer Groups
One of the easiest ways for groups (of up to 15 people) to help Howard Brown is to volunteer at The Brown Elephant Resale Shop in Andersonville (5404 N. Clark St.).
How Your Support Helps Our Community
All proceeds support LGBTQ+ healthcare and fund care for the uninsured and under-insured at Howard Brown Health’s 7 clinics including Broadway Youth Center.
Your Volunteer Group Will Help Staff
- Sort through the high volume of donations we receive daily
- Categorize donations
- Add pricing labels
- Tidy up the store, including the back-of-house.
Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old as some donated items may include adult content.
Coordinating Your Group Volunteer Outing Begins with a Simple Email
To set up group volunteering at Brown Elephant email volunteer@howardbrown.org with the following:
- Group name, leader, email, telephone number
- Number of volunteers up to 15 (aged 18+)
- Send a couple dates | Monday through Sunday
- Select a 4-hour shift between 10am and 5pm (i.e. 10am-2pm, etc.)
