US Bancorp – Sr. Economic Sanctions Adjudication Analyst

Maliyah is currently employed with US Bancorp as a Sr. Economic Sanctions Adjudication Analyst. She has worked in the department of Enterprise Financial Crimes & Compliance since October 2015. Shortly after joining US Bancorp, she made the decision to openly transition to bring her authentic self to the workplace. She joined US Bank’s LGBTQ Employee Resource Group (Spectrum) in 2017 and has had the distinct honor of serving on the board as its Treasurer ever since. Through advocacy, she has helped US Bank HR draft a formal transition plan for transgender employees, and sensitivity trainings for employees across all business lines. She has also spoken at several discussion panel events about the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and fostering pathways towards better allyship of the LGBTQIA community.

Additionally, she is currently in the process of being confirmed to serve on the City of Chicago’s LGBTQIA Advisory Council. These advisory councils will serve to support the Mayor’s Office in engaging target populations and advising policy solutions to meet the needs of its community.

In her free time she enjoys playing guitar, piano, and creating instrumental music on her DAW. She is also a model and actress. She has walked the runway for Chicago Fashion Week in both the Spring & Fall shows of 2019, and will be featured again Spring 2021. She has also recently participated in a number of film and theatrical projects including Showtime’s “Work In Progress” (S1E3); and “Family Portrait,” a part of Steppenwolf Theater’s 2020 LookOut series.
