Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan but now based in Chicago, Daniel is a Midwest-born, raised, and molded first-generation college graduate with experience in public policy, government, advocacy, and community work (all while thinking globally). Daniel has extensive experience in providing impactful services to equity-minded and progressive leaders, students, and youth constituencies. Daniel believes collaboration, not competition, is critical to our collective success: peace and justice for all. Daniel received his M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and is currently a 988 LGBTQ+ Crisis Counselor with The Trevor Project. Daniel also employs art in their practice using mixed media, painting, drag/performances, and experimental visual/audio art.

They believe in using powerful tools like compassion, kindness, and evidence-based data to take a holistic approach to solving problems before they arise and at their root. Daniel’s resilient mindset and emotional fortitude allow individuals and communities to build trust with him. Daniel has a deep and wide knowledge of institutional and systemic workings, how to care for the humans that make them up, and the communities we serve. He is excited to continue to connect, grow, and work together as compassionate leaders to build the world we as LGBTQ+ people deserve.
