Howard Brown Health names new VP of Human Resources
(Chicago, August 17, 2021) – Today, Howard Brown Health announces the appointment of Aaron Lawlor as the Vice President of Human Resources and member of the Executive Leadership Team following a nationwide search by the Morten Group.
Lawlor will lead the Human Resources team focusing on building Howard Brown as an employer of choice that attracts, retains, and develops mission-motivated healthcare professionals committed to eliminating health disparities in LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities.
“We conducted a thorough nationwide search that netted 26 candidates,” said David Ernesto Munar, President & CEO of Howard Brown. “Aaron’s experience leading Illinois’ third largest county and his track record during his time at Howard Brown makes him the right person to lead Human Resources and help fuel Howard Brown’s growth as a leading healthcare provider for the LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities.”
Lawlor joined Howard Brown’s HR team in 2019, most recently serving as Interim Director. Before joining Howard Brown, Aaron served as the Lake County Board Chairman where he oversaw the county budget and administration including compensation and benefits for the County’s more than 2,000 employees, risk management, and labor relations with the County’s 11 bargaining units.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Arts from Lake Forest College and a Master of Business Administration from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He holds a PHR certification and earned a Professional in Human Resources Certificate from DePaul University.
