Howard Brown Health Expands Sexual Health Services at its 63rd Street Location

Howard Brown Health has expanded the scope of services offered at its neighborhood clinic in Englewood to include walk-in screening and treatment for sexual transmitted diseases (STDs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).  The addition of sexual health services at the site follows a decision by the Chicago Department of Public Health to discontinue the Walk-in STD/STI Screening clinic previously located in the same building.  According to city officials, the loss of federal funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) hastened the decision to close the city STD/STI clinic.  Howard Brown is working closely with health officials to ensure no gaps in services for people who relied on the city clinic to meet their sexual healthcare needs.  Patients may access services with or without an appointment.
