Howard Brown Health Announces New Board Officers and Newly Elected Board Members

(Chicago, IL, September 3, 2019) – The Howard Brown Health Board of Directors is pleased to announce members of its 2019-2020 Board officers, Executive Committee members, and newly elected Board members.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Howard Brown maintains a governing Board with a majority of members who are also patients.

The 2019-2020 leadership group of the board is comprised of the following:

Mario Treto, Jr., Chair

Austin Baidas, Treasurer

N. Charles Thomas, Executive Vice Chair

Chef Fresh Roberson, Secretary

Mark Hawkins, Executive Committee At-Large

Bethany Pagels-Minor, Executive Committee At-Large

Oscar Zambrano, Executive Committee At-Large

Newly elected to three-year terms on the the Board are Nic Belgrave, Chad Nico Hiu, Jared Lewis, Mike Mazzeo, and Eric Schneider.

New Board Members:

Nic Belgrave is a Director of Enterprise Risk Management at the Options Clearing Corporation. He has 9+ years’ experience in Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management and Consulting across his career.

Chad Nico Hiu is a Hawaii-born New Yorker and student of the world having served with the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) Diversity, Inclusion & Global (DIG) team since 2011 and is Senior Director of Diversity & Inclusion.

Jared Lewis is a native of South Shore who works at the intersection of economic development, small business, public policy, tech and social enterprise. He is the Chairman of SSA#42 a local tax district that funds expanded services and programs through a localized property tax levy. As of his appointment, Jared is the youngest board member appointed to the Howard Brown Board.

Mike Mazzeo is a professor in the Strategy Department of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He also currently serves in the school’s leadership team as the Senior Associate Dean of Curriculum and Teaching. Mike earn a PhD in Economics from Stanford University in 1998.

Eric Schneider is Senior Vice President of Strategy and Communications at IFT, a global scientific institute and foundation focused on a safe, nutritious and sustainable food supply for everyone. Eric also serves on the Board of Trustees at the Ancona School, an independent school in Chicago’s Southside.
