Committed to health equity and addressing disparities, particularly among BIPOC individuals and those living with HIV, we are excited to invite you to a special event focused on raising awareness and providing resources for diabetes.
Join us for free on-site health services, a free Thanksgiving luncheon, a full lineup of engaging programming, a resource fair featuring over a dozen local organizations, and much more. We can’t wait to see you there!

10:30 AM – Doors Open & Screenings Begin
After you get checked in, visit our Health & Vaccination Station and the Resource Fair.
11:00 AM – Event Officially Begins
Visit the resource fair to connect with local organizations and explore programs designed to support your health journey. Take charge of your health with free on-site screenings and vaccines provided by Howard Brown Health. Our clinical staff and diabetes case managers will be on-site to answer questions, connect you to care, and provide follow-up support as needed.
11:15 AM – Opening Remarks
Welcome by Terra Campbell with remarks from Dr. Travis Gayles, Dr. Simbo Ige, and Alderman Stephanie Coleman. Introduced by our host for the day, Marcela Grossman.
12:00 PM – Panel Discussion: Health Equity & Technology
Hear from patients and providers as they explore the intersections of innovation, equity, and lived experience in diabetes prevention and care. Dr. Luna will direct topics and questions to the panelists and audience, allowing the entire room to become an active member of the discussion.

1:00 PM – Thanksgiving Luncheon & Networking
Enjoy a warm, Thanksgiving-style meal prepared by CMB Catering – celebrating community, connection, and good health.
1:30 PM – Cooking Demonstration
Enjoy a flavorful, heart-healthy demo utilizing fresh ingredients her healthy dressings live right in the Great Hall. Get ready for a tasty sample as well. This will be something quick and fast anyone can try at home after the fair.

2:00 PM – Movement & Education Session
Learn how diabetes impacts overall health and discover practical, everyday strategies for prevention, management, and long-term wellness. Participants will leave with actionable steps around nutrition, movement, stress management, and community connection.
2:45 PM – Closing Remarks & Raffle Drawing
Closing remarks from Howard Brown Health, final raffle drawing and prizes, a thank-you to our attendees, and next steps for accessing care and improving your health.
