Care in Our Community
At Howard Brown Health we care about our patients, who are our partners in care.
We are proud to provide Chicago an innovative system of healthcare that builds trust and community. Every patient and client that comes through our doors is a partner in health. With clinics across the city of Chicago, our top priority is to make sure everyone who chooses Howard Brown feels at home.
There are many ways you can stay connected and involved in our Howard Brown community. Giving feedback, connecting with others in the LGBTQ community, staying connected and learning about more events, and sharing your story for others are just some of the benefits of being involved with Howard Brown communities.
- Volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to meet other Howard Brown community members. If you have some time and interest in either a one-time or ongoing volunteer opportunity, connect with our volunteer coordinator to learn more. Apply online howardbrown.org/get-involved/volunteer/
- Share Your Story
As a patient, your story can help others find their way to affirming, quality healthcare. Do you love the services you get here? Did Howard Brown give you the care you need, when someone else couldn’t? Your health story could be similar to someone else’s, and reading about your success can give someone the courage to make an appointment today. communications@howardbrown.org
- Stay Connected
Find Howard Brown on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and check out the Brown Elephant on Facebook and Instagram. Our Broadway Youth Center also has a Facebook page and Instagram.
- Show Up
Howard Brown hosts events throughout the year that keep you connected to your community, online and in person. Whether it’s a fundraiser, or a free event about our programs, see our events page to see what we’re doing next.
- Using a Network Pharmacy
Using a network pharmacy, including all on-site Walgreens stores, can help you save up to 70% on most medications. If you’re insured, using a pharmacy in our network helps Howard Brown earn revenue to serve other patients who are uninsured or are unable to pay for services.
- Giving Back
There are other ways to help other patients in the community like yourself. For example, feel free to donate time, money, or used goods. At our Brown Elephant stores, you can donate gently used items to be resold. All proceeds from the stores go toward LGBTQ health and wellness services. You can also donate here. As a non-profit organization, any donation to Howard Brown is tax-deductible and helps us continue to provide our services to those who need it most. Giving back doesn’t always mean giving money. Thank you for being part of our community.
We make it our mission to lay a foundation of care and respect for our patients. Increasing accessibility and providing proper care for our communities are our goals!
