As a proud, queer woman of color and a daughter of immigrants, Jamie Umanzor is honored to have been the YMCA’s first national manager dedicated to LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity and to have work with organizations like the Biden Foundation & Gill Foundation. Today, Jamie is the founder, president, and principal consultant for C3 Equity Consulting, which provides LGBTQ+ and organizational Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consulting with a focus on culturally humble and trauma-informed business, community, and human resources strategies.
Jamie holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of San Francisco and an M.A. in Public Administration from Capella University. Jamie is also a self-proclaimed “super nerd” with a great passion for indigenous spirituality, natural healing, and Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). She is currently running a pre-colonial, indigenous Hawaii-inspired D&D campaign and supports a D&D podcast and a separate D&D live show. Jamie carries two sets of polyhedral dice on her person at all times in case the opportunity for an impromptu game presents itself.
