Eriika Etshokin, MA (She/Her/Hers) is the Director of Social Behavioral Research at Howard Brown Health’s Center of Education, Research, and Advocacy. Eriika obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and French from University of Wisconsin – River Falls and her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (Creative Writing) from Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN. Through her academic pursuits, Eriika worked in Clinical Research – coordinating complex and clinical-imbedded studies in fields including Cancer, Diabetes, and Cystic Fibrosis. From 2011-2013, she took an academic/professional break to teach English at a medical university in Cameroon with the United States Peace Corps. She came to Chicago in 2013 and worked in IRB Administration at Lurie Children’s for 5 years before joining Howard Brown Health’s Center for Education, Research, and Advocacy in 2018.

Eriika began in the Manager role with the Social Behavioral Research department and moved into the Director role in 2019. She works with a passionate dedicated team of Research Assistants, Research Coordinators, Project Managers, and programming staff to bring in and facilitate research that can improve the care and access to care for the HBH community. Eriika is passionate about using research to create meaningful changes in the ways members of the LGBTQ community receive and access healthcare. She is a board game enthusiast, an avid camper, traveler, and explorer. She loves all things Harry Potter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
