Research at Howard Brown
Howard Brown Health has a long history of participating in research studies aimed at eliminating health disparities experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Past studies include nationally funded research initiatives studying HIV/AIDS, the Hepatitis B vaccine and HIV prevention. Howard Brown continues to be involved in a number of clinical research studies and behavioral interventions that address all areas of LGBTQ health. Howard Brown is committed to the principles of community-based participatory research which recognizes researchers, community-based organizations and community members as equal partners in the research process. The community-based participatory research process ensures that researchers respect the rights of participants, addresses community needs and uses study data in order to address health disparities and improve health outcomes for the LGBTQ community.

All potential research collaborations must first be reviewed by the Howard Brown Research Committee. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks of processing time for the Research Committee to review any proposals.
