Howard Brown Health Appoints New Vice President for Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion
Paul Rauseo, MBA, Joining Howard Brown’s Executive Leadership Team
(Chicago, IL, June 22, 2020) – Howard Brown Health, the Midwest’s largest LGBTQ organization and medical home to more than 35,000 patients and clients, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Rauseo, MBA, as Vice President, Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion.
Paul will lead the organization’s human resources department that supports recruitment, retention, and leadership development for Howard Brown’s 550-person workforce. Working closely with the CEO and members of executive leadership, Paul will also oversee progress toward Howard Brown’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals to better reflect Howard Brown’s citywide patient populations and respond urgently to the public health crises of racism and other forms of oppression.

Paul has a long and impressive career in HR, including his previous appointment as Senior Human Resources Program Director at Cook County Health & Hospital System. With more than 20 years of work experience in variety of industries, Paul brings a keen interest in metrics, change management, accreditations, and employee engagement. He holds a master’s in business administration and worked as a management consultant for 10 years, developing budget systems around HR process improvement. Early in his career, he led community outreach and talent acquisition strategies to fill up to 200 positions per quarter, experience that exposed him to the value of diversity outreach and recruitment.
Howard Brown engaged Morten Group, a national consulting firm experienced in nonprofit diversity and inclusion strategies, to lead a national search process to fill the positon.

Paul is already having impact on Howard Brown’s approach to diversity, having recommended and secured support for the creation of a new position, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, to implement an agency-wide DEI roadmap.
