(Chicago, IL, January 15, 2019) – Howard Brown Health is proud to announce that Aisha Davis has been named the Manager of Policy and Advocacy for the Center for Education, Research and Advocacy (ERA). ERA’s advocacy team focuses on initiatives that improve the health and lives of people within the LGBTQ community in Chicago and beyond. The position of Manager of Policy and Advocacy works to advance patient access to affirming healthcare and address social determinants of health through public policy, grassroots efforts, and community-led education initiatives.
The position of Manager of Policy and Advocacy extends Aisha’s breadth of experience in LGBTQ advocacy work. As an avid student of intersectionality, Aisha has worked on civil and human rights issues throughout her legal career, including work with Amnesty International, the Human Rights Foundation, Columbia Law School’s Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies, and the African American Policy Forum.
Aisha is eager to expand Howard Brown’s advocacy efforts and shared, “I am excited to join the ERA team and build on its contributions to improvements in healthcare access for the LGBTQ community and Chicagoans.”
“Aisha will bring vital skills and experience to ERA. I am confident she will effectively advocate for not only Howard Brown’s growing population of 35,000 patients and others who are underserved by traditional healthcare systems,” said Andie Baker, Vice President of Center for Education, Research and Advocacy.
