The Treatment Advocacy Program (TAP) offers individuals living with HIV the opportunity to discuss concerns related to having HIV with a counselor that is also HIV-positive. Topics discussed in TAP range from medication adherence and coping with treatment, to issues related to HIV disclosure and sexual safety. Research performed at Howard Brown, in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has demonstrated the effectiveness of this type peer support in coping with HIV. The service is free of charge to anyone living with HIV. To learn more about the program, or to schedule an appointment, contact Julio M. at 773-572-6989.
