The focus of the Howard Brown Walk-In Clinic is to provide low-cost, confidential or anonymous testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. The Walk-In Clinic will give you choices to personalize your health care needs.

Howard Brown recommends getting tested twice a year for HIV and STDs if you are sexually active. For further information on any of these programs, please call 773-388-8895.

HIV testing, STD testing, syphilis testing and treatment, and Hepatitis vaccination services are available*:

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 1 pm - 7 pm             
Friday: 9 am - Noon and 1 pm - 4 pm
2nd and 4th Saturday of each month: 9 am - Noon
EXCEPT DURING May, November and December: 2nd Saturday only: 9 am – Noon

No appointment is necessary. Clients seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment can be made in cash, credit, debit, or check. Sorry, insurance cannot be used for walk-in clinic visits.

Anonymous HIV Testing

Howard Brown offers rapid HIV testing, with results usually provided within the same day. Results from rapid HIV tests are available in minutes; however, because this is a walk-in service, we cannot ensure a specific length of time for the full visit. Anonymous testing means your name is not attached to the tests you receive. Instead you will be given a number and this is how you will obtain your results. This testing includes an extensive pre- and post- test counseling session.

Syphilis Testing

Syphilis testing is available on a walk-in basis at no cost. This testing is confidential, which means you will be asked to provide your name and contact information.

Syphilis Treatment Clinic

This clinic offers the confidential blood test for syphilis , a nurse consultation visit and syphilis treatment when appropriate. This clinic is designed specifically for people experiencing symptoms of syphilis, and for individuals who were potentially exposed to syphilis by a partner.

Hepatitis Vaccination

In this package service you will receive a nurse consultation visit, a combination vaccination against Hepatitis A and B, and allow you to be screened for Hepatitis C. To be fully vaccinated, it is necessary to return for 2 follow-up visits; the nurse will discuss time-frames with you during your visit.

Price = $15.00 (Hep C testing additional $7)

STD Testing

STD testing is a confidential service that includes an office visit with a Health Care Provider and diagnostic testing for syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia. Other tests are available and, when appropriate, treatment is given presumptively at the point of your testing.
